1991-1998 Jazz DJ
In 1991, Leila began pursuing another passion, music, by producing and hosting a weekly radio jazz broadcast on WICN 90.5 FM in Worcester, Massachusetts, including interviews with more than 50 international jazz artists including Diana Krall, Nancy Wilson, David Sanborn, Dave Brubeck, Milt Jackson, Al Jarreau, John Pizzarelli, Charlie Haden, Joe Lovano, Toots Thielemans, Stephane Grapelli and Benny Green.
She has also written occasional player profiles for Downbeat, concert reviews for Reuters News Service at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and has served on the jazz staff of WGBH 89.7 FM in Boston.
